In Eindhoven (Netherlands) an opening of the photo exposition Verdwenen maar niet vergeten (Disappeared but not Forgotten) is due to take place on the 16th of September. Earlier the same day a commemoration ceremony will be organized to mark the 11th anniversary of Viktor Gonchar and Anatoly Krasovsky disappearance.
The opening of the photo exposition is set to 15:30 local time in Catharina Kerk (Catharina square) in Eindhoven. The exhibition will be opened by elderman Staf Depla. A word by daughter of Anatoly Krasovsky Valeriya will be taken. The exposition will last till September the 30th. The event is organized by Amnesty International, FNV Mondiaal, Mission to Minsk and We Remember.
On the 16th of September 2008 in the center of Eindhoven, which is since 1996 a twin-city of the Belarusian capital Minsk, four trees were planted in the memory of the involuntary disappeared Yuri Zakharenko, Viktor Gonchar, Anatoly Krasovsky and Dmitry Zavadsky. Same day 2009 commemoration ceremony occurred on this location (more information about action 2009 read here). This year commemoration ceremony will take place there as well. Valeriya Krasovskaya will hold a speech. Dutch poet Leo Messman, whose poem dedicated to the disappeared Belarussians, is engraved on the plaque near the trees, will read his new poem. A minute of silence will be observed in the Oleg Bebenin's memory. To remind, the body of Oleg Bebenin was found on the 3rd of September at in his summer cottage not far from Minsk. Oleg Bebenin was one of the founders and leaders of charter97.org website.
Both the commemoration and the exposition opening are open for public.
