Action of solidarity with people of Belarus in the Hague

On Monday December the 20th in The Hague, Netherlands, action of solidarity with those who gathered the night before on October square in Minsk took place.

On the 19th of December Presidential elections took place in Belarus. The results of these elections were fabricated dramatically. Over 40.000 Belarusians gathered on October square of Minsk to express their protest against falsifications. People were brutally beaten, over 600 persons arrested, including candidates for presidency, journalists and human right defenders.

To support people of Belarus, a solidarity action was organized on the 20th of December in front of the Belarusian embassy in the Netherlands. The event was sanctioned by the local authorities.

Participants of the action hold slogans «Elections in Belarus is shame for Europe», «Free elections for Belarus», «New elections for Belarus» and others. The action went on for one hour.
