Free Theatre actor gets $350 fine for participation in solidarity action on January the 19th

The people detained yesterday at a public action of solidarity near the KGB building are being tried today. Mikita Valadzko, a Free Theatre actor, was fined 30 basic units.

Mikita took part in an action of solidarity with political prisoners on January 19, 2011. He was detained by three secret service officers as he as crossing the road with his mother and younger sister. The officers didn’t explain anything to him. 23 people were detained at the event and taken to the Tsentralny district police department. Most of them expect for Mikita and one more participant of the action were released some hours later.

Mikita Valadzko gives his first night performance at Fortinbras theatre laboratory on January 20. The performance was to be dedicated to the events and victims of December 19, but the actors decided to dedicated it also to the new detainees with the young stage director among them.
