On December 19 Belarusian-American Association organized a commemoration event across the Belarusian embassy in Washington, DC, USA.

December 19 marked the two-year anniversary of the fraudulent presidential election in Belarus, and many political prisoners remain in prison or are otherwise being mistreated. Therefore a protest action took place across the street from the Belarusian Embassy on December 19 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 p.m. local time.

Participants of the action were holding banners demanding immediate release of all the political prisoners in Belarus, and portraits of the involuntary disappeared Belarusians. They also spread leaflets with the actual information on the human rights current situation in Belarus.

Besides Belarusian-American Association members, president of Freedom House David Kramer, We Remember president Irina Krasovskaya, members of JBANC, Amnesty International and Fair Vote for Russia took part in the event.
