Civil Initiative «We Remember», which affiliates family members of victims of political kidnappings occurred in Belarus in 1999-2000, joined solidarity campaign with Mikola Statkevich and Zmitser Dashkevich.

Irina Krasovskaya, co-fouder of the organization, and her daughter, Valeriya stated:

The civil initiative «We Remember» stands for the immediate release and rehabilitation of all Belarusians convicted for political reasons.

On the presidential elections day on the 19th of December 2010 and the day before in Belarus opposition leaders, including presidential candidates and prominent public figures were arrested and subsequently sentenced to various prison terms and restrictions of freedom. Some of them after two and a half years are still in prison. Among them — presidential candidate Mikola Statkevich and a leader of the «Young Front» Zmitser Dashkevich. Special attention is required to the fact that Dashkevich was arrested the day before the election on charges of hooliganism. Statkevich and Dashkevich are under psychological and physical pressure in prison.

The civil initiative «We Remember» joins the campaign «Freedom × 2» and insists on the immediate release of Mikola Statkevich and Zmitser Dashkevich.
