We Remember Foundation president Irina Krasovskaya presented the situation concerning the enforced disappearances in Belarus during the 2nd International Coalition Against Enforced Disappearance (ICAED) General Membership meeting March 25 in Geneva, Switzerland. Ms. Krasovskaya reported on the work of We Remember and she further proposed strategies for the ratification of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance.
Ms. Krasovskaya reported, in particular, that she and her daughter Valeriya Krasovskaya had won the case against the state of Belarus before the United Nations Human Rights Committee, and that the Belarusian government failed to respond adequately. In the name of We Remember Irina Krasovskaya addressed ICAED members with an appeal to pressure the Belarusian government to fulfill its obligations towards the UN Human Rights Committee and family of her involuntary disappeared husband Anatoly Krasovsky.
