Eindhoven commemorates the Disappeared Men

On September 16 2017, which marks the 18th anniversary of the involuntary disappearance of Viktor Gonchar and Anatoly Krasovsky, the city of Eindhoven, Netherlands, commemorates the two men, as well as disappeared Yuri Zakharenko and Dmitry Zavadsky. It is the 10th annual commemoration ceremony in Eindhoven dedicated to the four Belarusians.

The ceremony traditionally takes place at the site of the living memorial — the four trees — dedicated to Yuri Zakharenko, Viktor Gonchar, Anatoly Krasovsky and Dmitry Zavadsky.

The ceremony will be opened by daughter of Anatoly Krasovsky, Valeriya. Mary-Ann Schreurs (Municipality Eindhoven), Christie Midema (Amnesty International), Wim
Dekkers (FNV Bondgenoten) and Harry Hummel (Netherlands Helsinki Committee) will hold a speech.

Nienke Esther Grooten (Eindhoven city poet) will read her poem that she wrote for this occasion. Poet Leo Mesmans will read his poem Four Trees which is engraved on the memorial board.

The event is organized by Amnesty International, FNV, We Remember, Mission to Minsk. The organizers cordially invite you to attend this memorial. The memorial will take place this Saturday on September 16, 2017, 14:00 – 15:00, Paradijslaan, Eindhoven (corner Frederik van Eedenplein).
